Explore a Home Studio in the Bonus Rear Space
When we were designing this home, we had the advantage of a 215 foot deep lot, which is significantly deeper than the standard size.

We wanted to make use of this extra space by including some of it in the livable floor plan, while still leaving plenty of backyard space for entertaining, a playset, and more.
The fully conditioned bonus space off the back of the home is accessed through the two car garage. We envision this 12’x21’ room as the perfect spot for an additional home office, studio, or workshop.
It provides the homeowner the feeling of actually “going to work” by leaving the main home. Although many of us have enjoyed and adapted to remote working, we see this option as a healthy escape from seeing the same four walls you live in on a daily basis, creating a true separation of work from home.

Conveniently Located Gym in Your Own Home
Mustering the energy to actually go to a gym can be one of the most common pain points when it comes to personal fitness. To make it as easy as possible, we included a home gym in Lumen Point’s lower level.
The peaked ceilings provide ample headspace for even the tallest athletes or novice fitness junkies to do burpees, jumping jacks, and even add a climbing wall.
No more pep talks to get yourself out the front door for the morning exercise routine – just walk down to your basement and get your fitness groove on!
Private In-Law Suite with Separate Entrance
As we mentioned, we’ve had clients design and build their home with in-laws in mind. Whether they will be moving in at the same time as our clients at key handoff or they just want to plan for the future, multi-generational living has become increasingly common.
To make this additional living suite as comfortable and convenient as possible, there is a full bathroom, kitchenette, spacious living area, and most importantly a completely separate entrance into the lower level.
The separate entrance is accessible through a rear stairway, offering additional privacy to whoever is staying in the lower level suite. Relatives or guests can come and go as they please without having to climb multiple staircases, or disrupting the family just to get to their suite.
This space can also be useful for a recently graduated college student as a stopgap while they find their own housing or a private space for hosting guests.
Adaptable Owners Suite Bonus Room
If the kitchen is considered the heart of the home, then that makes the owner’s suite the sanctuary of the home.
This is one of the few places where homeowners can truly escape from guests or children and relax. In Lumen Point’s owner’s sanctuary, we included not one but two walk-in closets, a luxurious spa-like ensuite bathroom with a standing shower and tub, in addition to a 6’x9’ enclosed bonus room.
This bonus room can only be accessed from within the owner’s suite, adding more valuable privacy. This room can easily be used as another home office, temporary nursery, or the perfect spot for a Peloton bike, looking out at the treetops of your side yard – for those days when walking down to the basement home gym is a little too far.
